Shelley Kumer Chaffins, CRNP

Shelley Kumer Chaffins is a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner. She originally attended the University of California at Davis, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science, with an emphasis in Biomechanics. Her health care career, spanning over two decades, began as an EMT and Firefighter. When an injury caused a change in her career path, she built on the foundation of her medical knowledge and became a Certified Pilates Instructor and Personal Trainer. Shelley then pursued her interest in nursing, graduating with her Bachelor of Nursing degree from Samuel Merritt University in 2010. She recently attended Walden University to obtain her Master of Science in Nursing in a Family Nurse Practitioner program. After graduating Summa Cum Laude in August, 2017, she joined South Hills Pain and Rehab Associates to begin her career in pain management. Following the goals of South Hills Pain and Rehab, she strives to provide her patients with a comprehensive treatment approach with a goal of pain control by improving function and quality of life. She practices as a pain management provider by using conservative pharmacological therapy, interventional procedures, behavioral and lifestyle modifications, and physical rehabilitation. Shelley lives in the South Hills and enjoys spending time outdoors in Pittsburgh with her friends and family.
